sure, now i get it. and even though i don't do aa or any other kind of meetings, i have to agree with that too. in rehab we were a mish mash of people, although the majority had an alcohol problem. thus, most of the teaching etc was based on this. when i spoke to this guy who had a problem with crack, he did say that he felt he wasn't in the right place, couldn't relate to certain things, etc etc. and that's why i agree with you. shared problem, shared between the same 'kind' of people makes sense.

You can't make an alcoholic out of an addict. I'm talking about the pure alcoholic, & the pure addict. They are not one in the same.
ps We are close cousins, & dear to each other's hearts tho. This is what AA says, I agree.
